Biostarks is a Swiss health technology company building a precision wellness and longevity platform.
We combine advanced at-home biomarker testing with AI-powered longitudinal health insights — transforming a few drops of blood into comprehensive, actionable health intelligence.
Our proprietary analytical workflows are powered by mass spectrometry (LC-MS / ICP-MS), going deeper than standard at-home testing. We operate our own laboratory in Geneva, built on Swiss quality standards.
We serve B2B corporate partners, healthcare professionals (B2B2C), and direct-to-consumer channels across the US, Europe, and the Middle East — including an exclusive partnership with one of the largest food actor globally. Recognized by Innosuisse, Biostarks is accelerating commercial deployment and platform innovation.
The Role
As a Full Stack Engineer Intern, you will join our engineering team to develop Connected Services — the layer that enriches Biostarks' blood-based biomarker results with third-party health data — and build Augmented Intelligence features that turn that combined data into deeper, AI-driven health insights.
This is a hands-on, full-stack role that spans data capture, backend processing, AI agent development, and front-end integration. You will work on real production features in a fast-moving startup environment where your contributions have immediate, visible impact.
You will report to the Head of Application Development and collaborate closely with Applied Sciences, Product, and Design teams, with continuous support from the executive team.
What You'll Build
- Connected Services — Capture and integrate health data from third-party sources: wearable APIs (Apple Watch, Oura, Whoop), home devices (e.g. Withings), and document-based reports (e.g. genomic PDFs)
- Data Modeling — Transform raw external data into standardized model objects that enrich the Biostarks health profile
- AI Agents — Develop AI agents using the OpenAI platform (File Search, Function Calling) to interpret and contextualize connected data alongside biomarker results
- Front-End Integration — Build widgets and UI components in ReactJS to surface Connected Services and internally developed health concepts (e.g. health scoring, BioAge clock)
- Infrastructure Exploration — Evaluate aggregation platforms (e.g. Terra, Open Wearables) to determine the optimal integration architecture
The objective is end-to-end delivery — from concept to production.
Tech Stack
- Front-end: ReactJS
- Back-end: PHP + SQL, Python
- AI / LLM: OpenAI Platform, AI Agents, File Search, Function Calling
- Infrastructure: Docker, Git, S3, Elasticsearch
- Architecture: REST APIs, Webhooks, Event-driven, Time series
What We're Looking For
- Master level (M1-M2) or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field EPFL or equivalent
- Solid fundamentals in full-stack development: ReactJS, backend (PHP/Python/SQL), and version control (Git)
- Comfort working across the stack — from database queries to front-end components
- Interest in AI/LLM technologies and willingness to learn the OpenAI platform
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first setup while staying aligned with the team
- Fluency in English required; French is a plus
Not all skills are required from day one — some will be learned on the job. What matters is a solid baseline and strong appetite to grow.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data modeling, event-driven architectures, or time-series data
- Exposure to health data, wearable APIs, or scientific applications
- Familiarity with Docker, Elasticsearch, or cloud storage (S3)
- Foundations in UX/UI design and building delightful user experiences
- Appetite for product thinking — understanding why, not just how
- Strong communication skills
What We Offer
- Direct exposure to a high-growth health-tech startup operating across the US, Europe, and the Middle East
- Meaningful product work — your code ships to real users and enterprise partners including global brands
- Mentorship from an experienced engineering team, with continuous executive team support
- Flexibility to work from home, with optional on-site presence in Geneva
- The opportunity to build at the intersection of precision health, connected devices, and AI
Hiring Process
We value your time. Our process is lean and fast:
- Introduction Call — 20-minute conversation with the CEO to discuss the company vision and your motivations
- Technical Interview — 20-30 minute session with the Head of Application Development — no homework required
- Final Meeting — On-site visit or video call to meet the broader team
Decision turnaround: ~2 weeks
Biostarks is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
