To further strengthen its global engineering organization, our client is seeking an experienced Global Head of Software who will define and drive the worldwide software strategy for next-generation machinery and automation platforms.

Your Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the global software strategy and architecture for next-generation machinery and automation systems
• Lead and develop a globally distributed software engineering organization across multiple international sites
• Drive the transition toward modern software engineering practices, including modular architectures, CI/CD pipelines and scalable development platforms
• Implement AI and GenAI capabilities to enhance engineering productivity and intelligent machine functionality
• Ensure excellence in software lifecycle management, system integration and validation processes
• Collaborate closely with R&D, system architecture, product management and operations across the global organization
• Build and develop high-performing software engineering teams and strengthen global engineering capabilities

Your Background:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field
• Proven experience in leading global software engineering organizations and defining software strategies for complex technology platforms
• Strong expertise in scalable software architectures, ideally within machinery, automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing environments
• Solid understanding of real-time machine control software, embedded systems and system integration
• Experience driving technology transformation, including modern software engineering practices and AI-supported development environments
• Strong analytical and systems thinking, with the ability to understand complex interactions between software, hardware and manufacturing processes
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities in international engineering environments
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Willingness to travel internationally and collaborate with global teams across Europe and Asia

The annual gross salary starts at €120,000.

Depending on your qualifications, leadership experience and overall profile, the company offers a competitive compensation package with room for negotiation.
