RSI Europe is a rapidly growing defense technology company based in Vilnius, Lithuania, developing and producing advanced remotely operated systems for modern military operations. Our mission is to empower armed forces with reliable, innovative, and field-proven solutions that enhance operational efficiency and safety.
RSI Europe is looking for new colleagues in the autonomy team. We’re expanding our UAV capabilities and looking for a colleagues to design and deliver robust guidance, navigation, and control solutions for challenging operational environments. You’ll work closely with our embedded, avionics, payload, and test teams to ship mission-ready systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize computer vision algorithms for real-time applications, including Object detection, recognition, and tracking in multispectral applications, Visual-inertial odometry and SLAM, Optical flow and depth estimation.
- Support vision-based navigation integration into UAV GNC systems.
- Work with embedded platforms (NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi or any orther ARM-based SoCs) to deploy vision algorithms efficiently.
- Build and maintain simulation and testing pipelines using tools like Gazebo, ROS/ROS2, and OpenCV.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (GNC, embedded, hardware) to ensure seamless integration of vision systems.
- Perform data collection and annotation, and manage datasets for training and validation.
- Implement robust algorithms for low-light, adverse weather, and cluttered environments.
- Contribute to autonomy stack development, including sensor fusion and decision-making modules.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research in computer vision and robotics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in computer vision or robotics perception.
- Strong proficiency in Python and C++, including latest standards (C++20 and onwards), for algorithm development.
- Hands-on experience with OpenCV, ROS/ROS2, and Gazebo.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) for vision tasks.
- Experience with camera calibration, stereo vision, and sensor integration.
- Understanding of real-time constraints and optimization for embedded systems.
Bonus skills:
- Knowledge of existing UAV software ecosystems and products.
- Experience with automating development processes using modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience in GNC engineering.
- Knowledge in machine learning (ML) and deep neural networks (DNNs).
