Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop data models that support business processes and analytical requirements
  • Analyze and understand business needs and processes to create effective data models that enhance data usability
  • Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring alignment with the overall enterprise architecture
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the data model serves its intended purpose effectively
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, ensuring compliance with data governance standards and data quality metrics
  • Conduct data profiling and data analysis to support data model designs and determine the impact of potential changes
  • Participate in data integration efforts and support the implementation of data management practices
  • Develop and document data definitions, metadata, and data lineage information for operational and reporting systems
  • Work with ETL developers and data engineers to ensure seamless integration and data flow into data warehouses and other analytical platforms
  • Support data governance initiatives by providing expertise on data modeling standards and practices
  • Continuous learning and keeping up to date with industry trends and advancements in data modeling and management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong experience designing and implementing layered data warehouse architectures (staging, raw, business vault, data marts) aligned with BI and analytics needs
  • Proven hands-on experience implementing Data Vault 2.0 (Hubs, Links, Satellites, historization, auditability, traceability)
  • Capability to translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling (star and snowflake schemas)
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data quality principles embedded in modeling design
  • Advanced SQL proficiency and hands-on experience with data modeling tools
  • Ability to work closely with BI analysts and business stakeholders to support reporting needs
  • Ability to contribute to documentation and modeling standards
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and Looker from a data engineering perspective
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks supporting Data Vault generation
  • Knowledge of data validation, reconciliation, and quality monitoring techniques
  • Exposure to AI-assisted modeling accelerators or metadata-driven automation
  • Familiarity with the court of justice domain
  • Experience designing models in cloud platforms
