Python Data & Machine Learning Engineer in Amsterdam, Netherlands
Responsibilities
Design & Build Data Pipelines
- Develop, optimise, and maintain robust data pipelines using Python and associated libraries.
- Work with large-scale datasets across structured and unstructured environments.
- Design, build, and deploy ML models—ranging from classical models to deep learning—in production environments.
- Implement simulations, optimisation algorithms, and performance‑tuning techniques.
- Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following best engineering practices.
- Conduct software testing to ensure reliability and quality across ML and data workflows.
- Utilise tools such as Airflow, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes to support scalable data and machine learning operations.
- Work with both relational and NoSQL databases to support analytical workloads.
- Leverage cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) to build and deploy scalable data solutions.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and follow Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives and independently design, test, and deliver solutions that meet requirements.
- Share knowledge within the team, contribute to technical discussions, and support a culture of continuous learning.
Technical Skills
- 5+ years of professional experience with Python in data‑driven environments.
- Strong proficiency with Python libraries such as Pandas, scikit‑learn, PySpark, TensorFlow, and Keras.
- Experience building end‑to‑end machine learning solutions in production environments.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data engineering tools such as Airflow and Kafka.
- Software testing experience.
- Naturally curious, driven, and passionate about continual self‑development.
- Solution‑oriented with the ability to analyse objectives and design independent implementations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team-focused environment.
- Commitment to producing high-quality, well‑structured, maintainable code.
- Enjoys working in a dynamic environment where initiative, innovation, and ownership are valued.
- Knowledge of the Dutch language is essential.
