Key Responsibilities:
- Develop software requirements and design for a Vehicle Management System (VMS)
- Work with subject matter experts, design solutions for a variety of capabilities such as airplane subsystems, redundancy management, energy management, system monitoring, and controls
- Coordinate and integrate requirements across engineering disciplines
- Apply model-based system engineering techniques to design and verify system requirements
- Interpret requirements to formulate and test mathematical models
- Verify and validate software against designed requirements in virtual and hardware test environments
- Conduct analysis to support certification of a Vehicle Management System
- Ensure compliance with aerospace safety and certification standards (ARP4754A and ARP4761).
- Ensure compliance with aerospace software and Hardware standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254).
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (flight controls, software, certification, safety, systems engineering) to ensure system robustness and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in avionics engineering with a specific focus on vehicle management system, fault detection and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of safety-critical system design and relevant certification processes (e.g., ARP4754 and DAL levels).
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink), requirements management tools (e.g., Polarian or DOORS).
- Familiarity with aircraft system integration and avionics communication protocols (e.g., CAN, serial communications, …).
- Experience/Familiarity with the hardware and software associated with Avionics systems, Flight Control Systems, Power System, Mission System.
- Experience/Familiarity with System Safety Assessments, Failure Hazard Analysis, and Certification/Test plans.
- Hands-on experience with software development in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and system verification.
- Very good knowledge of the English language
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
