The Why
Reporting to the Director Transactional Products and Payments, this role will be accountable for driving Ubank’s Transactional Products & Payments, a domain central to our customer value proposition, funding strategy, and commercial performance.
This high performing individual will shape and execute Ubank’s Transactional Product growth strategy, optimise and evolve our Payment portfolio, drive product innovation, rewards, and Open Banking, while working cross functionally across bank to drive customer and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for transaction products, domestic payments, and associated value‑added services (Open Banking).
- Champion customer‑centric principles to optimise everyday banking journeys such as account opening, transacting, sending/receiving money, and problem resolution.
- Lead from the front—comfortable rolling up your sleeves to drive execution and deliver market-leading customer experiences.
- Partner with vendor to ensure compliance, commercial value, and alignment to the bank’s strategic goals.
- Drive the end-to-end strategic direction and roadmap for Ubank’s Open Banking (CDR) capabilities, ensuring alignment to customer needs, regulatory expectations, and competitive positioning.
- Ensure all transactional and payment products comply with relevant regulatory, scheme, and prudential requirements (e.g., NPP, BECS, card schemes, AML/CTF, scam prevention, privacy, operational resilience).
- Ensure everyday payments and transaction experiences are intuitive, frictionless, consistent across channels, and meet customer expectations for speed, reliability, and transparency.
- Drive continuous improvement using insights, analytics, incident patterns, and customer feedback to remove pain points and uplift quality end‑to‑end.
- Influence and collaborate effectively to drive value and ensure successful end‑to‑end delivery.
- Demonstrated experience owning or leading Transactional Products and or Payment Products.
- Background using analytics, forecasting, and customer/market insights to drive decisions and optimise performance.
- Hands‑on experience influencing and collaborating across key functions (e.g., Strategic Vendors, Marketing, Digital, Data, Treasury, Finance, Risk
- A degree in a related field (Finance, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Banking, Business or similar) is preferred, however not mandatory if relative professional experience is able to be demonstrated
