Key responsibilities:
- Build AI-powered product capabilities: Design and develop backend systems powering Vega’s AI-enabled platform, including LLM-driven workflows, intelligent automation, and agentic systems.
- Develop scalable backend architecture: Build and evolve microservices using Java and Spring Boot to support a highly scalable SaaS platform serving private market firms.
- Create robust APIs and data service: Design and optimise APIs and backend services that power Vega’s frontend applications and enable complex data workflows across the platform.
- Integrate across the private markets ecosystem: Work on integrations with third-party systems used by private equity firms, distributors, private banks, and fund administrators.
- Improve platform performance and reliability: Identify bottlenecks, optimise data pipelines, and contribute to a resilient infrastructure capable of supporting large-scale financial data workflows.
- Collaborate to push the product forward: Work closely with engineers and product teams to build high-impact features, contribute ideas, and continuously improve engineering standards.
- 3–4 years of back-end development experience, with strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for microservices with event-driven architectures and relational databases
- Solid understanding of modern AI technologies and a passion for integrating AI-driven solutions into scalable systems
- Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g. EC2) and familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Back-end: Java 21, Spring Boot, REST, Postgres/Jooq/Flyway, Kafka, JUnit/TestContainers/Mockito, AWS (EC2, RDS, Cognito, S3, KMS, Bedrock), Containerization (Docker / kubernetes)
- Front-end: TypeScript, React, and Tailwind CSS
- Work alongside experienced engineers from leading fintech and technology companies and build infrastructure powering the next generation of private markets
