The mission of the UX/UI Designer, COS at Cozey
We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to join the Cozey Operating System (COS) team, reporting to the Senior Product Manager. You’d be the first dedicated designer on this team, embedded directly with product and engineering.
COS is the internal platform that runs Cozey’s operations: inventory, fulfillment, delivery, returns, and planning. Over 100 people use it daily across fulfillment centres, logistics, customer happiness, and finance. The problems are hands-on: a planner juggling three spreadsheets to build a forecast, a warehouse team member stuck in a workflow with unnecessary steps, a CX agent hunting across tabs to resolve a return. You’ll research these problems firsthand, prototype fast, test with real users, and iterate until the workflow works.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own design end-to-end for internal operations tools: problem framing, research, prototyping, and production-ready UI, working in collaboration with product and engineering.
- Run hands-on UX research with COS users (Warehouse staff, planners, CX agents, logistics coordinators).
- Validate ideas before engineering commits: Wizard of Oz testing, barn door tests, paper prototypes, clickable mocks.
- Design clear interfaces for complex workflows: data-dense dashboards, multi-step processes, exception queues, planning tools.
- Balance discovery and delivery. Some weeks you’re exploring a new problem space; others you’re refining screens for a feature in build.
- Hands-on UX research experience. You’ve planned and run interviews, usability tests, and observational research yourself.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and lightweight validation (Wizard of Oz testing, barn door tests, concierge MVPs, or similar).
- Strong design fundamentals: layout, typography, hierarchy, interaction design, applied to complex, information-rich interfaces.
- High autonomy. You take a loosely defined problem, figure out what to learn, and drive it forward without waiting for direction.
- Comfort with shifting priorities. You pivot to the most valuable work without losing momentum.
- Experience designing internal tools or operational software is essential.
- Experience in B2B, logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with data-heavy environments (dashboards, planning tools, reporting).
- Experience working in cross-functional product teams.
- Autonomous Ownership: You take loosely scoped problems and drive them to shipped solutions, figuring out what to learn, build, and skip.
- Research-Informed Speed: You know when a quick barn door test is enough and when deeper research is needed before committing.
- Prototype-First Thinking: Rough concept in front of users within days, not weeks. Showing over telling.
- Discovery-Delivery Balance: You shift between exploring new problem spaces and refining solutions in active build cycles without one starving the other.
- Competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefit package.
- Opportunities for personal and professional growth in a fast-growing start-up.
- A generous PTO policy that allows you the time you need to recharge.
- A role where your work directly shapes how Cozey runs day-to-day. The tools you build get used by the teams who keep the business moving.
- A workplace where everyone is welcomed, heard, and valued.
