Job Description
You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and supporting of firmware/embedded software applications. These applications will be for existing and next-generation Rockwell Automation products. You will work following engineering best Practice, and in partnership with team members across the globe.
We will require you to meet project deliverables with high quality and to work in a diverse team environment.
You will report to the Firmware Engineering Manager and follow a Hybrid working schedule in Singapore.
Your Responsibilities
- Design firmware and embedded software for existing and next generation of Rockwell Automation products
- Participate in technical reviews to identify issues early and propose solutions.
- Deliver project outcomes promptly.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Bachelor or master's in computer science / Embedded Systems/Computer. Engineering / Electrical Electronic Engineering with Concentration in Embedded Software Engineering.
- Minimal 5 years relevant experience in embedded software product development.
- Experience developing embedded software using C and C++ programming language.
- Experience with development in the following areas for embedded system:
- Development with microcontroller and low-level device drivers
- Development with Real-time Operation System
- Develop communication protocols like Ethernet/USB/WiFi and CAN/Profibus, and IO-Link
- Automated unit test methodology
- Experience developing Design document for firmware/embedded software. Have knowledge in different established design techniques and design patterns.
- Experience using different hardware-assisted debugging tools.
- Have knowledge in Firmware Functional Test, testing methodology and framework, test automation will be advantage.
- Have knowledge in Secure Coding CERT C/C++ standard.
- Have knowledge or experience in Functional Safety/ Security Development processes will be advantage.

- Passion in embedded engineering. Have desire for continuous improvement in applying best practice and modern technologies in embedded design and processes.
- Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analysing pros and cons of different solutions.
- React positively to needs and changes in strategies.
- Willingness to experiment within acceptable boundaries and to bring novel solutions into design
- Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners; collaborate with other teams in multicultural environment.

Rockwell Automation’s hybrid policy aligns that employees are expected to work at a Rockwell location at least Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays unless they have a business obligation out of the office.
