Position: Network and Security Administrator (Managed Services – Senior Specialist)


Job Summary


The Network and Security Administrator is responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing the organization’s network infrastructure. This role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network and security systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and protection against cyber threats. The position also supports users by resolving network and security-related issues and requires strong technical expertise with enterprise technologies.


Key Responsibilities


Network Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (switches, routers)
  • Monitor network performance, stability, and availability
  • Administer network services (DNS, DHCP, email services)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues
  • Manage routing and switching across data center and enterprise environments

Security Management

  • Design, deploy, and manage firewall infrastructure
  • Configure firewalls to prevent unauthorized access and mitigate threats
  • Monitor network traffic and respond to security incidents
  • Implement and enforce security policies and best practices
  • Manage intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS)

Monitoring and Support

  • Monitor network activity, performance, and capacity
  • Conduct network audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Provide technical support on network and security issues
  • Manage antivirus and endpoint protection solutions
  • Support remote-access VPN services for users and customers

Technologies & Tools

  • Cisco Core & Access Switches (Nexus 7K, Nexus 9K)
  • Firewalls: Cisco ASA, Fortinet (IPS, IPSEC VPN)
  • Web Application Firewalls: Akamai, FortiWeb
  • Load Balancers: F5 LTM
  • SD-WAN: Cisco, Fortinet, Velocloud
  • VPN: Cisco AnyConnect
  • Antivirus: Symantec
  • Network Access Control: Cisco ISE
  • Virtualization: Basic VMware knowledge
  • Authentication: RSA Authenticator
  • Monitoring & Backup: SolarWinds, HPNNMI (OpenText)
  • Change & Incident Management Platforms


Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in network and security administration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Strong expertise in firewall configuration and management
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols and switching technologies
  • Experience with enterprise network infrastructure (switches, routers, servers)
  • Familiarity with IDS/IPS systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and implement security policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of data center and enterprise network architecture
