Position Objectives
The IT Specialist will support and maintain a telecom OSP network implementation tracking platform built on the Odoo platform (Web & Mobile). The role is responsible for providing application technical support, coordinating infrastructure operations, and enabling effective user adoption across both field and office teams. The position ensures system stability, performance, cybersecurity compliance, and operational continuity while supporting telecom project teams through training, technical troubleshooting, and system administration.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for the Odoo-based platform.
- Troubleshoot system issues related to work orders, field inspections, asset tracking (PN/SN), and project tracking modules.
- Support mobile application users including field engineers and inspectors.
- Manage user accounts, roles, access rights, and permissions.
- Coordinate bug fixes, system enhancements, and updates with the development team.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system release validation.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and change logs.
- Conduct training sessions in Arabic and English for system users.
- Prepare user manuals, SOPs, and quick reference guides.
- Provide onboarding support for new users and operational teams.
- Deliver post-go-live support and hypercare during system rollouts.
- Promote compliance with digital workflows and system usage standards.
- Monitor and maintain application servers operating on Linux.
- Coordinate operating system patching, security updates, and server maintenance.
- Monitor PostgreSQL database performance and health.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including VPN access, firewall rules, and DNS configuration.
- Validate system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Coordinate with cloud hosting providers for system infrastructure management.
- Manage SSL certificates and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies.
- Monitor system uptime, application performance, and incident resolution metrics.
- Track user adoption and system usage across operational teams.
- Prepare periodic technical performance and support reports.
- Identify and recommend improvements to enhance system performance, automation, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in ERP/Odoo application support, infrastructure administration, or application technical support roles.
- Experience supporting web and mobile applications in enterprise environments.
- Experience working in telecom or infrastructure project environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with Odoo (Community Edition preferred) and understanding of ERP workflows.
- Basic knowledge of Python programming (preferred).
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL database administration.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Experience with patch management, server hardening, backup validation, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Exposure to cloud or virtualized environments (OCI, AWS, Azure) is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with technical teams and field users
