Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud platforms and development toolchains that support high velocity software delivery. This role focuses on enhancing developer experience, automating infrastructure, and enabling continuous integration and delivery across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and platform engineering with hands on experience in Google Cloud Platform, Google Kubernetes Engine, and modern automation tools.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code tools.
Build and maintain CI CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery.
Manage and optimize GKE clusters and other container orchestration platforms.
Develop and support internal developer platforms and self service tooling.
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for platform reliability.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve workflows and system performance.
Ensure platform security, compliance, and scalability through automation and best practices.
Document platform architecture, processes, and tooling for knowledge sharing.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
Minimum four years in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.
Preferred six years working with enterprise scale automation and tooling.
Experience in high velocity development environments is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise
Platform Engineering
Infrastructure as Code including Terraform, Pulumi and CloudFormation.
CI CD including Jenkins, GitLab CI and Cloud Build.
Containers including Kubernetes and Docker.
Mandatory hands on production experience with Google Kubernetes Engine.
Configuration management including Ansible, Puppet and Chef.
Monitoring and logging including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack and Cloud Operations.
Developer tooling including self service platforms and internal developer portals.
Development and Automation
Programming experience with Python, Go, Java and JavaScript.
API development and integration.
Microservices and distributed systems architecture.
Database management and performance optimization.
Automated testing and quality assurance.
Security scanning and compliance automation.
GCP Expertise
Development tools including Cloud Build, Cloud Source Repositories and Container Registry.
Compute services including GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions and GCE.
Storage including Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL and Persistent Disks.
Networking including VPC, load balancing and Cloud Endpoints.
Monitoring and logging using Cloud Operations Suite, Error Reporting and Cloud Trace.
DevOps and Automation on GCP
Cloud Deployment Manager and Terraform.
Anthos for hybrid and multi cloud application modernization.
Binary Authorization and container security.
Cloud KMS for secrets and key management.
Pub Sub for event driven architecture.
Certifications
Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer.
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer.
Certified Kubernetes Application Developer.
