An opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Metallurgist to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. In this role, you will report to the Senior Metallurgist and work on an 8:6 roster.
You will support the Plant and Senior Metallurgists in developing technical skills while assisting with the design, development, and optimisation of processes at the processing plant.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Conducting and supporting metallurgical test work for operational improvement and project development.
- Analysing and interpreting test data to identify trends, diagnose issue, and inform process improvements.
- Generating and maintaining daily and weekly metallurgical production reports to ensure that targets are met and to identify improvements opportunities.
- Contributing to process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving recovery, product quality, and reducing waste and operating costs.
- Providing technical support through close collaboration with metallurgy, processing, geology, and mining engineering teams to achieve production targets.
- Supporting compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements, contributing to departmental safety plans and objectives.
Our ideal candidate will have previous work experience in mineral processing plant as a graduate metallurgist or vacation student.
Other Key Skills, Experience, And Qualifications
- Tertiary degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or related sciences
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to learn and develop.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and VBA skills favourable).
- A current C-class manual driver’s license.
