About The Role
We are seeking a Data Analyst/Actuarial Analyst to prepare actuarial analysis of rates and rating plans. You will also prepare recommendations concerning changes in rates and rating plans based on such analysis, as well as prepares correspondence and required exhibits in connections with regulatory filings, including necessary follow up when suck filings are questioned, challenged or otherwise, not promptly approved as submitted. Perform special actuarial projects as assigned and also, calculations for loss reserves.
What You'll Do
- Process, manipulate, and organize data for Actuarial Reserving and Pricing teams
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards using SAS, SQL and Excel
- Support special data analysis projects for senior leadership
- Identify data issues and collaborate with IT to resolve defects
- Improve existing data processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Provide data and insights to all actuarial areas within the organization
- Experience in data management and reporting (Intermediate level)
- Proficiency in SQL (Intermediate), and Excel (Intermediate)
- Programming skills (Intermediate), with knowledge of R and Python as a plus
- Familiarity with actuarial reserving concepts (Entry level)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively
- Good communication skills for collaboration with IT and actuarial teams
- Insurance background in reserving data is a plus
