Senior QA Engineer (Contract)

Role Overview:
We are currently looking for a Senior QA Engineer for a consultancy assignment based in Helsinki.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both manual and automated testing across backend services and frontend web applications, along with hands-on expertise in automation frameworks and mobile testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual and automated testing for backend services and frontend web applications
- Contribute to and enhance end-to-end (E2E) test automation frameworks
- Design, execute, and maintain test cases across functional, regression, integration, and reliability testing
- Conduct mobile application testing for iOS and Android platforms
- Develop and execute API tests using Cucumber
- Work with tools such as Postman, Bruno, qTest, and BrowserStack
- Ensure accessibility compliance based on WCAG standards
- Document test results and maintain clear reporting
- Collaborate with development teams and contribute to code where required
- Identify defects, track issues, and ensure timely resolution
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in QA (manual + automation testing)
- Strong experience with automation frameworks (Cypress, Selenium, Playwright)
- Experience in backend and frontend testing
- 3+ years of mobile testing experience (iOS & Android)
- Experience writing Cucumber API tests
- Experience with testing tools such as Postman, Bruno, qTest, BrowserStack
- Strong understanding of testing types: functional, regression, integration, and reliability
- Knowledge of accessibility testing (WCAG standards)
- Experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Nice to Have:
- Willingness to contribute to development/code
- Reactive programming experience
- Strong engineering mindset
Candidates must have hands-on automation experience (Cypress/Selenium/Playwright). Profiles with only manual testing experience will not be considered.
