Platform Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer Job

What Awaits You

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), we are looking for an advanced DevOps role; The expected skills combine software engineering and systems administration competencies to ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of large-scale, cloud-based applications and infrastructure
Being the first client touchpoint for 2nd or 3rd level ticket handling on technical incidents. Expected technology stack to handle: Github workflows/Actions, Terraform, Kubernetes, Containers (Docker files and makefiles)
The most important task of an SRE is to ensure the operation of the application of which they are a part of
You will be part of a full feature team, to manage a real time cloud based solution with factory integration
You will have the chance to work with cutting edge cloud technologies and experimenting how a BWM Factory acts in real life
We’re expecting and/or offering possibility to learn:
Deep Technical Knowledge: Mastery of core technologies, tools, and methodologies in their field (e.g., software development, mechanical engineering, electrical systems)
System Design: Ability to design complex, scalable, and maintainable systems or architectures
Debugging and Troubleshooting: Proficiency in identifying and solving complex issues quickly
Prototyping and Innovation: Developing and iterating on new solutions and approaches
Effective Communication: Conveying complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, clients, and executives to align technical solutions with business goals with BMW colleagues from plants
Documentation: Creating comprehensive, maintainable documentation for systems, designs, and processes, main tool will be Confluence and Jira
Analytical Thinking: Breaking down complex problems into manageable components
Creativity: Innovating new approaches to address technical and organizational challenges

What Should You Bring Along

University Degree in Computer Science or a related field
At least 5 years of experience on a similar role is required
At least 1 year of proven experience with Azure Cloud
Experience with Monitoring tools like: Grafana, Prometheus and Kafka message interpretation
Nice to have skills: AKS (Azure Kubernetes Services), HELM, ArgoCD, Terraform deployment, K6 load testing, Azure (Services, Private Endpoints, Networking Vnets), Chaos mesh administration
Optional skills: Bash scripting and/or Python
Previous experience with Agile/Scrum Principles
Excellent English verbal and written skills
German communication skills will be a plus
