To strengthen the global IT team, our client is looking for a BI Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and models to support business intelligence and reporting needs across global operations. The role ensures high-quality, trusted data is available for analytics, decision-making, and performance management. The BI Data Engineer will translate business needs into technical specifications and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines to extract data from diverse sources;
• Develop and optimise data models for BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Azure).
• Implement and manage data quality rules and data validation logic.
• Collaborate with business users to understand reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance the enterprise data warehouse environment.
• Ensure security, compliance, and access controls on BI data assets.
• Monitor data loads and resolve data-related issues.
• Document data pipelines, structures, and technical specifications.
• Support self-service BI by enabling standardised and trusted data sets.
• Continuously optimise queries and storage to improve performance.
• Performing technical analysis & solution design for projects and requests assigned to the team.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• 5 years of relevant experience in (backend) data engineering
• Strong skills in SQL, data warehousing, and data modelling
• Experience with Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Fabric, SQL, Azure DEVOPS (boards & CI/CD pipelines),
• Good knowledge of ETL/ELT best practices, and scripting (Python, DAX)
• Good understanding of data governance, security, and lifecycle management
• Fluent in English
