Full-timeRemote FriendlyEngineering, Information Technology
At Tele2, we challenge the telecom industry to create more valuable solutions for our customers. Guided by our challenger mindset, we deliver high-quality connectivity and digital services, ranging from mobile and fixed networks to TV, streaming and global IoT.

Sustainability is an integral part of how we work. Tele2 has been recognized as a climate leader in Europe by the Financial Times and named Sweden’s most sustainable company, reflecting our long-term commitment to reducing our environmental impact and advancing circular solutions together with our customers.

Our values – Be Brave, Take Action, Make it Simple and Act Cost-efficiently – guide our culture, how we collaborate and how we turn ideas into action.

You'd rather ship a model that disrupts a market than polish a Jupyter notebook nobody reads. Join Tele2's Data & AI team where your work goes live, serves millions of customers, and drives real decisions. We pair machine learning craft with agentic AI to multiply what a single data scientist can deliver. If you want outcomes over outputs and agentic AI tools that let you focus on engaging complex problems, let's talk.

About The Job

What does "data scientist" mean in 2026? Not a data analyst - we have AI for that. Not a software engineer - your delivery isn't an application; it's an outcome. Think of it as someone who translates all kinds of numbers into business value, using every tool available.

As a Senior Data Scientist in Tele2's Data & AI (DELTA) unit, you own the path from messy business problems to measurable impact. You will work closely with product owners, engineers, and business stakeholders - using machine learning as your foundation and agentic AI to move faster and reach further.

  • Drive measurable business outcomes through machine learning - churn prediction, customer lifetime value, recommendation systems, network optimization, and beyond
  • Lead end-to-end data science projects from problem framing through to production deployment, owning the result, not just the model
  • Harness agentic AI and LLM-based tools to accelerate analysis, automate repetitive workflows, and scale your ability to generate insights
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging AI tools and techniques - staying on the cutting edge to continuously improve how the team works
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines and feature engineering frameworks to support model development
  • Translate business challenges into well-defined problems and communicate results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best practices, code quality, and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Collaborate with data engineers and MLOps to ensure models are production-ready, scalable, and monitored

Who are you?

To thrive and succeed in this role we believe that you:

  • Hold a Master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline
  • Have 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science or machine learning roles
  • Are proficient in Python and its data science ecosystem (pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
  • Have strong experience with SQL and working with large-scale data warehouses
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of statistical modeling, experimental design (A/B testing), and causal inference
  • Have experience deploying models into production environments
  • Are genuinely excited about leveraging agentic AI and LLMs as tools to amplify your data science impact

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using agentic AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor), LLM-based workflows, or AI-assisted development to accelerate data science work (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, RAG pipelines, vector databases)
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and leveraging LLMs for analytical workflows
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar)
  • Familiarity with the telecom domain — network data, customer journey analytics, or pricing optimization
  • Experience with NLP, time-series forecasting, or graph-based methods
  • Contributions to open-source projects or published research
