Project Description
This role sits within the Project Management Competence Area and supports the Data & AI domain, specifically the Student Assistant team.
The project focuses on building an AI-driven product that helps students improve learning outcomes through homework support and test preparation via an AI chatbot.
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly driven Project Manager to lead the integration of the recently acquired M&A target into the Sanoma landscape and, following successful integration, help prepare and drive the launch of Student Assistant across markets.
This role combines two major responsibilities. First, the Project Manager will lead the end-to-end integration of the acquired company across Sanoma’s technology, legal, compliance, operational, and commercial landscape. Second, once the foundation is in place, the same person will evolve into a key delivery role supporting the market launch of Student Assistant, built on the basis of the acquired company product.
The role requires a combination of traditional integration project management and AI product launch coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive, structured, and execution-focused, able to manage dependencies across multiple teams, identify quick wins, and escalate risks early.
This role operates in a complex, cross-functional environment across business and technology domains, working closely with Product, Technology, Legal, Enterprise IT, Data & AI, and local market stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities 1. Lead Acquired Company Integration into the Sanoma Landscape
- Drive end-to-end integration planning and execution for the acquired product and organization
- Drive and coordinate major integration workstreams across technology, legal, compliance, security, operations, and business processes
- Ensure alignment with Sanoma standards, governance, and ways of working
- Define integration priorities, identify quick wins, and propose pragmatic solutions to accelerate progress
- Maintain a clear integration roadmap, including milestones, owners, dependencies, and risks
- Align internal teams including Product, Platform, Enterprise IT, Legal, Security, Data Privacy, Procurement, Finance, and OpCos
- Coordinate with external partners or startup stakeholders where needed to ensure smooth handover and integration
- Facilitate collaboration between technical experts and business stakeholders
- Ensure decisions are documented and followed through
Coordinate Integration Activities Across Areas Such As
- Technology and platform integration
- Security and identity/access management
- Data privacy, legal, and compliance requirements
- Operational processes and support model
- Commercial and contractual alignment
- Analytics and reporting
- Transition from integration leadership into launch preparation for Student Assistant once core integration is complete
- Support planning and coordination for Student Assistant rollout across markets
- Work closely with product and market teams to ensure launch readiness
- Coordinate key dependencies across product, technology, legal, and operations
- Help establish governance, timelines, risk tracking, and execution follow-up for launch activities
- Track status across all streams and report progress to leadership
- Escalate issues and risks early, with clear mitigation proposals
- Ensure transparency on delivery status, blockers, and decisions
- Create structure and momentum in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment
- Proven track record in project management for complex integrations, transformation initiatives, or cross-functional delivery programs
- Experience working across multiple business and technology functions, ideally in post-acquisition integration, platform integration, or large-scale product launches
- Strong understanding of technology-enabled products and API/platform-based ecosystems
- Experience coordinating legal, compliance, and operational dependencies in addition to technical workstreams
- Experience working with AI-enabled products or digital product launches
- Experience in education technology or international product rollouts
- Strong project leadership and execution skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate across both strategic and hands-on delivery topics
- Strong problem-solving and prioritization capability
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving progress in evolving environments
- Ability to balance structure with speed and pragmatism
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project
- Comfortable working in matrix organizations with multiple stakeholders and markets
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- B2B contract for an indefinite period
- A key role in a high-impact project combining M&A integration and AI product launch
- The core project is planned for approximately 12 months, with the possibility to continue within other strategic initiatives at Sanoma afterward
- Strong focus on work-life balance and a supportive, collaborative atmosphere
- Opportunities for professional growth through complex, cross-functional challenges
You will take part in a highly professional, international environment, working alongside experienced teams across multiple domains. We value initiative, accountability, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, and we actively support continuous development and growth.
