Role: Mid-Level PHP Developer: Healthcare Platform

Location: Remote, UK Based 

Hours: 37.5hours per week, Monday - Friday 

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 pa


We’re looking for a talented Mid-Level PHP Developer to join the team building the PreActiv healthcare platform. Developed by a multidisciplinary clinical team, PreActiv delivers individualised perioperative and oncology prehabilitation and rehabilitation programmes, combining evidence-based exercise with multimodal support across nutrition, psychological wellbeing and behaviour change.


You’ll work closely with our Technical Lead and product manager to deliver secure, reliable features across a growing healthcare platform used by medical professionals and patients.


What you’ll be working on

  • Developing and maintaining PHP-based applications 
  • Building modular features and APIs that support multiple healthcare programmes
  • Creating responsive user interfaces using modern frontend tools
  • Developing secure systems that handle sensitive healthcare data
  • Integrating third-party services and external healthcare systems
  • Contributing to code reviews and maintaining high development standards


Required Technical Experience

  • OOP and MVC Architectural Principles - non framework
  • PSR-4 Namespacing
  • MySQL
  • REST APIs
  • JavaScript / jQuery
  • HTML, CSS, SASS & Bootstrap
  • Package Management Tools
  • GIT and Bitbucket Pipeline


What we’re looking for

  • 3–5 years of PHP development experience
  • Experience working with APIs and MySQL databases
  • Understanding of secure coding practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small product team


Bonus Experience

  • Healthtech or medtech experience
  • HL7 / FHIR standards
  • Experience building scalable web applications
