About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled HVAC Controls Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing submittal packages and owner’s manuals for Building Automation Systems (BAS). Your expertise will ensure that system designs meet performance, operational, and client expectations. You will work closely with sales teams, project managers, and technicians throughout the entire project lifecycle, providing critical documentation and technical support. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are required. Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. Experience with HVAC systems, electrical control systems, or PLCs is preferred, along with familiarity with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite. Educational qualifications include an associate degree in HVAC, Electrical, Drafting, Engineering, or equivalent technical education. Candidates with more than one year of relevant experience will be highly considered, especially those with exposure to building automation projects.
Responsibilities
- Design DDC (Direct Digital Control) control panels, wiring schematics, and system interfaces to manage HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems effectively.
- Develop sequences of operation and system layouts tailored to project specifications, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Create electrical wiring diagrams and floorplan graphics for user interfaces, enhancing system usability and troubleshooting.
- Select appropriate control system components and compile comprehensive project bill of materials (BOM) to facilitate procurement and installation.
- Collaborate with project managers and control technicians to prepare detailed submittal packages and owner’s manuals that meet project standards and client requirements.
- Review contract plans, specifications, and budgets in coordination with project stakeholders to ensure alignment and feasibility.
- Provide ongoing documentation support to contractors and clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clarity and compliance.
- Coordinate schedules and provide regular updates to internal teams to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within scope.
- Ensure all documentation and deliverables adhere to quality standards and project deadlines, maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
