Overview: Every consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services we offer to clients. As a Network Support Engineer, you will join our Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support for local site network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, wireless, and perimeter security)
- Monitor, log, track, and resolve network-related incidents and performance issues, escalating when appropriate
- Perform network troubleshooting and root cause analysis for outages, latency, and connectivity issues
- Support and maintain network hardware and configurations, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless controllers
- Assist with network changes, moves/adds/changes, and configuration updates following established change and security processes
- Maintain and update network documentation and Visio diagrams to reflect current-state configurations
- Collaborate with central IT, vendors, and site stakeholders to ensure network reliability and minimal business disruption
- Follow established security, patching, and vulnerability management processes as they apply to network devices
- Provide knowledge transfer and operational handoff documentation at the conclusion of the 90-day engagement
- Work occasional off-hours or non-traditional hours as needed to minimize production impact during network work
- 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments
- Hands-on experience with:
- LAN architecture and support
- VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, and switching
- Network troubleshooting and incident resolution
- Ability to clearly communicate technical issues to both IT and non-IT stakeholders
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Cisco experience (CCNA or equivalent knowledge)
- Experience with:
- Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto)
- SNMP, syslog, SSH
- Wireless networking support
- Network monitoring and packet analysis tools
- Familiarity with ITIL-based operational support environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing appropriate PPE
