The Labs Practice is PwC Middle East’s innovation space where we rapidly prototype and build proof-of-concepts around emerging technologies, with a primary focus on AI and immersive technology applications. Our team transforms innovative ideas into working demos that showcase the art of the possible for our clients. 

As a Senior Associate, Software Engineer, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to design, develop, and support AI-driven prototypes, demos, and experimental solutions within the Labs Practice. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Experiment with new tools, frameworks, and platforms to evaluate their potential applications for client use cases. 
• Translate conceptual ideas into working demonstrations that showcase the “art of the possible” for clients. 
• Work closely with innovation leads to ensure technical feasibility of prototypes and experiences. 
• Participate in ideation sessions, design sprints, and innovation workshops with internal teams and clients. 
• Support client engagements, workshops, and experience center tours. 
• Support the setup, preparation, and reset of the lab space for client visits, tours, workshops, and internal events. 
• Ensure lab equipment, devices, and prototyping materials are properly stored, maintained, and ready for use during demonstrations, workshops, and development activities. 
• Communicate clearly with non-technical clients and client teams, explaining complex topics in a simple way. 
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, AI advancements, and industry trends relevant to innovation labs. 
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, documentation, and research initiatives within the Labs practice. 
• Support the development of demos, prototypes, or insights that can be used for internal showcases, events, or thought leadership. 
• Including such other duties that may be assigned to you by your manager. 

• 2–3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer in an individual contributor role, with demonstrated experience collaborating on team projects 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field 
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking 
• Innovation mindset with passion for emerging technologies 
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills 
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently 
• Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity in fast-paced environments 
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development 
• Customer-focused approach to solution development 

Technical Skills: 

• Strong proficiency in Python for backend development 
• Experience building and shipping AI-powered products, including integrating machine learning models or LLMs into production applications (e.g., RAG pipelines, agentic systems, and AI-powered workflows) 
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn), computer vision, and using any of the popular LLM APIs (e.g. GPT, Claude, Gemini) 
• Front or backend development capabilities; full stack is a plus 
• Preferred experience with React (Next.js) for frontend development and familiarity with Tailwind CSS for responsive UI design 
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture 
• Version control using Git 
• Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools is a plus 
• Understanding of DevOps practices and Docker containerization (preferred) 
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus 

Soft Skills: 

• Strong collaboration and teamwork; able to work closely with technologists, researchers, and business stakeholders. 
• Comfortable working in agile, fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and deadlines. 
• Excellent communication skills for presenting and explaining concepts to diverse audiences. 
• Client-facing mindset with the ability to support demos, lab tours, and external events. 
• Proactive, curious, and adaptable to change. 
• Reliable in delivering high-quality work on time. 
• Fluency in written and spoken English required; Arabic is preferred.
