Job Description
- Lead the Group’s threat and intelligence function, delivering timely and actionable insights to operational and executive stakeholders.
- Influence decision-making across the business, including flight operations, aviation and corporate security, crisis and resilience, and commercial/strategy teams.
- Permanent role based at Mascot Campus.
The Group Manager Threat, Risk & Intelligence is responsible for managing the Group-wide threat and intelligence program, and the security risk management system. The position ensures the delivery of timely, accurate, and actionable threat forecasts and geopolitical assessments to operational teams, airline safety/security committees, and executive stakeholders up to Board level. This role contributes to the Group’s strategic cyber security threat program, but does not sit within cyber security or cyber risk functions.
The Group Manager leads the Group's airspace threat intelligence program, ensuring the safety and security of our international route network through rigorous geopolitical analysis. It translates complex strategic intelligence into actionable products that directly inform executive decision-making, network strategy, and enterprise risk reporting. It also holds accountability for the Group's compliance with the various Government security programs and provides strategic oversight of the Group's Protective Security Program.
This position plays a key role in maintaining high level engagement with Government and security agencies, international aviation forums and private sector intelligence networks. It deputises for the Head of Threat, Risk and Intelligence in executive and government forums.
You’ll have –
- 10 years' experience in intelligence, security or geopolitical risk roles, or Defence/military.
- Tertiary qualifications in International Relations or Security Studies (or similar).
- Proven track record in managing intelligence teams and delivering high-quality analytical products under operational pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Very strong oral and written communication skills, including superior research/OSINT skills.
- Be available to travel domestically and overseas for short periods.
- Ability to acquire an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Australian citizenship with a current Australian Government security clearance.
