Do you want to work with an app loved by kids all around the world? Toca Boca World has millions (and millions) of users with more and more kids discovering the app every day. It’s a live platform for true open-ended play, an ever-expanding space where kids can tell any story they like.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be part of a cross-functional team focused on creating and improving systems outside the core gameplay loop. By developing and refining meta systems, you’ll help make Toca Boca World more engaging, rewarding, and long-lasting. You’ll work closely with other team members to turn ideas into polished features, improve existing systems, and shape new experiences that strengthen player motivation and satisfaction.
This is a parental leave cover starting in May 2026.

This is a parental cover position starting in May 2026. It is based in our Stockholm office with a hybrid working model (part office, part working from home). You need to be located in Sweden as we are unable to support relocation or offer remote work. As we’re an international company, with over 20 nationalities working here, and millions of users all over the world, you have to be fluent in English. Your application should therefore be in English.

What You Bring
- Several years of experience working with Unity and C#, with a strong understanding of how to build and ship engaging 2D games.
- Good understanding of UI implementation in Unity and how to build clear, maintainable interfaces for game features and systems.
- Experience working on a live-service game.
- A collaborative mindset and experience working closely with other developers and cross-functional game teams.
- A proactive, self-driven way of working, with the ability to take ownership and move features forward.
- Good judgment when making technical trade-offs, balancing quality, maintainability, and delivery timelines.
- A software engineering mindset, with an appreciation for writing clean, scalable, and well-structured code.
- Curiosity and confidence when working with exploratory tasks and solving new technical challenges.
