Back-End Developer – 6‑Month Contract (Hybrid, Kraków)
Location: Kraków, Poland (Hybrid: 6 days per month on-site)
Contract: Initial 6‑month engagement

Role Overview
This position is for an experienced Back-End Developer who can contribute to the design and delivery of scalable, cloud‑based systems. The role involves building and maintaining microservices, improving system performance, and collaborating with a wider engineering team to deliver high‑quality backend solutions.
The environment is modern, engineering‑focused, and suited to someone who values clean code, strong architecture, and reliable delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring and Spring Boot.
- Build robust backend components and APIs that support large-scale applications.
- Work with MySQL to design and optimise relational data models.
- Deploy and support services on AWS or Azure.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision‑making.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and front‑end teams to deliver new features.
Required Experience
- At least 7 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem.
- Proven experience building and maintaining microservices in production.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, ideally MySQL.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on maintainable, high‑quality code.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
- Exposure to distributed systems or event-driven architectures.
Working Model
Hybrid working with 6 days per month required on-site in Kraków. Remote work within Poland for the remaining time.
