Back-End Developer – 6‑Month Contract (Hybrid, Kraków)

Location: Kraków, Poland (Hybrid: 6 days per month on-site)

Contract: Initial 6‑month engagement

Role Overview

This position is for an experienced Back-End Developer who can contribute to the design and delivery of scalable, cloud‑based systems. The role involves building and maintaining microservices, improving system performance, and collaborating with a wider engineering team to deliver high‑quality backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring and Spring Boot.
• Build robust backend components and APIs that support large-scale applications.
• Work with MySQL to design and optimise relational data models.
• Deploy and support services on AWS or Azure.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision‑making.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and front‑end teams to deliver new features.

Required Experience

• At least 7 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Proven experience building and maintaining microservices in production.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, ideally MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on maintainable, high‑quality code.

Desirable Experience

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Exposure to distributed systems or event-driven architectures.

Working Model

Hybrid working with 6 days per month required on-site in Kraków. Remote work within Poland for the remaining time.
