Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and motivated professional to join our Witcher 4 QA team as an Open World QA Analyst. If you have a solid background in QA with a strong focus on narrative and open world gameplay, and you're passionate about delivering immersive, seamless game experiences—this role is for you.

We believe diverse voices make for better games. If you're someone who thrives on cross-team collaboration, enjoys solving complex systemic challenges, and cares deeply about the quality of open world storytelling and exploration, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop Open World QA test plans and strategies with a focus on world event functionalities, traversal integrity, region logic, environmental interactions, and systemic feature coverage.
  • Write and maintain test cases and checklists covering points of interest, dynamic events, environmental storytelling, NPC behaviors, and open world systems.
  • Create, organize, and maintain clear documentation to support team-wide knowledge sharing—including test processes, known issues, regression reports, and system dependencies.
  • Collaborate closely with world design, level design, and technical teams to verify implementation of streaming logic, dynamic world behaviors, and regional system consistency.
  • Conduct thorough testing of large-scale gameplay, such as environmental transitions, traversal paths, system interactions, and how exploration impacts gameplay progression.
  • Identify, debug, and report issues, track resolutions, and verify fixes.
  • Analyze data and assess risks related to scalability, performance, and stability of open world systems across different player paths and gameplay states.
  • Provide actionable, constructive feedback on world layout, traversal quality, accessibility, event clarity, and narrative readability to help shape a cohesive, believable open world experience.
  • Perform hardware-focused testing to ensure smooth exploration, stable framerate, and minimal streaming issues across platforms.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably focused on open world or systemic gameplay.
  • Proven experience creating and verifying detailed test plans and checklists.
  • Skilled in documenting test processes and managing bugs using JIRA, TestRail, or similar tools.
  • Deep understanding of game systems and mechanics, including exploration loops, dynamic world events, and emergent gameplay.
  • Familiarity with region-based logic and open world systems.
  • Ability to identify, track, and report issues related to traversal, dynamic content, and environment interactions.
  • Experience with hardware variability testing across different platforms and configurations.
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Clear, respectful communicator and reliable team player.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Genuine passion for video games, world-building, exploration, and narrative-driven gameplay.

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing games across multiple platforms (PC, consoles).
  • Familiarity with different narration systems—linear, branching, environmental, procedural, and emergent.
  • Exposure to commercial game engines, especially Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • Basic knowledge of automation tools or scripting for QA purposes.

While applying please attach your resume and cover letter in English as one file.

Applications without the required attachments will not be considered.
