We’re partnering with a leading experiential design and build organisation delivering large-scale exhibition stands, immersive brand environments, and complex event activations for major national and international brands.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Head of Projects to lead project delivery across a high-volume portfolio of exhibition and experiential builds.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, managing multiple concurrent projects, and leading a small team, while remaining close to onsite delivery.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full ownership of project delivery across 10+ live projects at any given time, ensuring all builds are delivered to the highest standard — on time, on budget, and safely.

You will act as the central point of contact across all projects, coordinating internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders while maintaining visibility across timelines, risks, and performance.

This role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on execution, making it ideal for someone who has progressed from a delivery background and is ready to lead at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of multiple exhibition and experiential projects simultaneously
• Manage project schedules, logistics, resourcing, and installation planning across all active builds
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
• Act as the key escalation point for project issues, resolving challenges in real time

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of up to 5 project or delivery staff
• Allocate resources across projects to ensure efficiency and delivery capability
• Drive accountability, performance, and continuous improvement within the team

Onsite Execution & Safety

• Maintain oversight of onsite delivery across bump-in and bump-out periods
• Ensure compliance with WHS standards, SWMS documentation, and venue requirements
• Promote a strong safety-first culture across all project sites

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

• Act as the primary point of contact across all projects for internal teams and external stakeholders
• Manage subcontractors including builders, installers, electricians, AV teams, and logistics providers
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, venues, and event organisers

Commercial & Operational Oversight

• Oversee project budgets, cost control, and financial performance across all projects
• Track variations, approvals, and contractor spend
• Drive operational efficiencies across project workflows and delivery processes

About You

You are a senior project delivery leader with a strong background in managing complex, high-volume environments such as:

• Exhibition and stand build companies
• Experiential or activation agencies
• Event production and delivery
• Fit-out, construction, or custom build environments

You will bring:

• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects (10+ at once)
• Experience leading and managing small teams (up to 5 staff)
• Strong operational and delivery mindset with the ability to stay across detail and big picture
• Deep understanding of onsite installations, logistics, and supplier coordination
• Solid knowledge of WHS compliance and safety standards
• Strong commercial awareness across budgets and project performance
• High level of computer literacy, with the ability to confidently work across project systems, reporting tools, and digital workflows

Experience with platforms such as B-Matrix and Allievision is highly regarded.

Additional Requirements

• Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including early mornings, late finishes, and weekends during key event periods
• Comfortable working across both office and onsite environments
