Senior PHP Backend Engineer

We're seeking a passionate and skilled Senior PHP Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in Vienna. As a key member of our engineering organization, you'll play a vital role in building cutting-edge web applications that delight our users.

What You'll Do:

• Develop high-performance, scalable, and maintainable backend systems using PHP (Laravel) and other relevant technologies (e.g., Python).
• Design and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Champion best practices in software engineering, including writing comprehensive unit tests with a strong focus on achieving high code coverage, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, frontend) to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Stay ahead of the curve by researching and evaluating emerging technologies and trends to continuously improve our products and engineering processes.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in developing and deploying production-grade web applications.
• Strong foundation in PHP and the Laravel framework, with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Expertise in working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), containerization (Docker), and DevOps practices (CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code).
• A growth mindset with a passion for learning and a desire to continuously improve your skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of the YII framework is a plus
