Our client a rapidly growing FinTech SaaS company is looking for a Cloud Architect to lead the evolution of their cloud platform as they scale across the Nordics and European markets. You will work at the intersection of security, distributed systems, and modern cloud engineering, helping shape the future of a mission‑critical financial product.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and evolution of the company’s cloud architecture with a focus on security, reliability, and scalability.
• Define architectural standards and guide the engineering team on cloud‑native best practices.
• Partner with product, engineering, and compliance stakeholders to ensure the platform meets the strict demands of the FinTech domain (security, auditability, data integrity).
• Drive the adoption of modern cloud technologies—including serverless, messaging systems, managed databases, and DevOps automation.
• Oversee infrastructure-as-code, cost optimisation, and multi‑environment orchestration.
• Conduct architecture reviews, threat modelling, and performance assessments.
• Mentor engineers and contribute hands‑on to complex cloud design and implementation.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect, Lead Cloud Engineer, or similar senior cloud role.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, security, and cloud governance.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Comfortable working with modern backend stacks (Python, TypeScript, Node.js, Go, etc.).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, serverless, and observability tooling.
• Ability to turn business requirements into scalable, compliant architectural designs.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working in FinTech, SaaS, or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI DSS).
• Familiarity with event‑driven systems, microservices, streaming platforms, or data pipelines.
• Interest in financial products, payments, or risk/analytics systems.
