Role: Tech Lead – Java

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to drive architecture, design, and delivery for enterprise‑grade payment processing applications built on a global, multi‑currency, multi‑country acquiring platform offering scalable, secure, and functionally rich payment processing and switching capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design & architecture of OmniPay‑based payment processing applications, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
• Guide, mentor, and upskill engineering teams, enforcing best practices and technical excellence.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Work on components integrating with OmniPay’s acquirer processing, settlement, reporting, and fraud/risk modules.
• Ensure alignment with Fiserv API standards (Payments, Fraud, Disputes, etc.) when designing REST services.
• Oversee end‑to‑end delivery: architecture reviews, code quality, solution design, and release readiness.
• Ensure solutions follow PCI DSS compliance practices applicable to payment systems.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of Java development experience, with at least 5 years in technical leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in:
• Java 8/11+
• Spring Boot & Spring ecosystem
• RESTful APIs, API design principles
• Microservices architecture
• Messaging systems & Apache Kafka
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns & design principles.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑team communication skills.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and containerization practices.
• Understanding of DevOps & CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Argo CD, etc.).
• Exposure to secure payment processing, risk management tools, and compliance frameworks (PCI DSS).
