As a Senior Software Engineer on the Catalyst Team you will provide technical leadership in advancing software verification, test automation, and DevOps capabilities that support our connected cardiac care ecosystem.
The Catalyst team develops and enhances test automation and tooling solutions leveraging technologies such as Appium and internal frameworks to improve testing efficiency, reliability, and scalability across the CRM software ecosystem.
In this role, you will design and build scalable automation frameworks, influence engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with R&D, software engineering, and quality partners to improve software quality, delivery predictability, and compliance in a regulated medical device environment.
A Day in The Life Of:
In general, the following responsibilities apply to the Senior Software Engineer role, including but not limited to:
- Design, develop, and maintain automation tools and frameworks supporting software verification.
- Lead and expand system‑level test automation capabilities.
- Design and evolve CI/CD automation to improve reliability, scalability, and execution speed.
- Define and implement quality metrics and dashboards to improve predictability and outcomes.
- Partner with R&D and Quality teams to define verification strategies that accelerate development while meeting regulatory requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement using lean principles to improve quality, speed, and productivity.
- Support test infrastructure setup, validation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a collaborative, learning‑focused team environment.
- Act as a technical leader influencing automation strategy, tooling decisions, and engineering best practices.
- Drive alignment across engineering, quality, and DevOps teams in a matrixed organization.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to peers and leaders.
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to support code development, refactoring, automation, and troubleshooting—applying strong judgment to validate outputs
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and support parallel and distributed test execution
- Apply system integration, risk‑based testing, and test evidence generation practices to support quality and compliance.
Key Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Software Verification and/or Test Systems Development, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience.
- Experience with software and system‑level testing.
- Proficiency with C#, and .NET.
- Experience with Appium or other automation testing frameworks.
- Experience working with XML and JSON.
- Experience automating iOS and/or Android applications.
- Familiarity with regulated product development and standards such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and 21 CFR 820.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills.
