A Day in The Life Of:
The following responsibilities apply:
- Independently own and deliver complex software features, subsystems, or technical components through the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Determine technical approaches to solve difficult and moderately complex problems, applying in‑depth analysis and sound engineering judgment.
- Lead and influence software design activities, making and communicating design and architectural decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with product owners, system engineers, software verification engineers, and internal and external partners across multiple geographies to deliver high‑quality solutions.
- Design, implement, test, debug, and document robust software and integration solutions that comply with applicable regulatory, quality, and security requirements.
- Coach and review the work of lower‑level engineers, providing guidance on software engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
- Lead and participate in design and code reviews, ensuring solutions meet expectations for quality, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop reusable frameworks, patterns, and automation that improve team productivity, software quality, and delivery predictability.
- Contribute to system integration, defect prevention, root‑cause analysis, and resolution of complex issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead or significantly influence improvements to development, verification, and CI/CD processes.
- May manage moderately complex projects or processes, including planning, execution, and coordination across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Miimum of 4 years of experience in Software Verification and/or Test Systems Development, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience.
- Strong expertise in software design, development, debugging, and testing practices.
- Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: C#, .NET, Objective‑C, Python, Xamarin, HTML, YAML, XML.
- Experience with tools such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, Microsoft Test Hub.
- Familiarity with Windows, Android, and/or iOS operating systems.
- Experience with test automation tools such as SeeTest Automation, Protractor, or Coded UI.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs (e.g., Azure DevOps Services API, OpenAPI/Swagger).
- Experience developing software for medical devices or other regulated products.
- Strong experience with Agile development methodologies and Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
- Hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation and influence technical direction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence technical decisions.
