COMO Digital Life

COMO Digital Life is a CSSF-supervised payment institution based in Luxembourg. We consolidate multi-currency accounts, payments, FX, and compliance into a single regulated platform - infrastructure that was once available only to global banks, now accessible to a broader set of organizations.

We care about doing this well. That means high reliability, genuine security, and systems built to be audited and trusted.

Role Purpose

You'll join our Technology team as the engineer who owns the infrastructure backbone of a live, regulated financial platform - one that moves real money across real borders every day.

This is a hands-on role. You'll design and maintain cloud-native environments, run Kubernetes in production, and keep CI/CD pipelines fast, safe, and repeatable. You'll work alongside backend engineers, security specialists, and product teams who care about code quality and operational rigor in equal measure.

If tuning Kubernetes resource limits or building a Grafana dashboard that actually tells a story sounds like a good use of a Friday afternoon, you'll fit in here.

What You Will Do

Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering

  • Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or Pulumi).
  • Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters in production.
  • Implement container orchestration, service meshes, and network policies.

CI/CD & Automation

  • Own CI/CD pipelines end-to-end - from commit to production - using GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Automate build, test, deployment, and rollback workflows. Manual steps are bugs.
  • Apply GitOps practices and maintain versioned, auditable infrastructure changes.

Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Build monitoring and alerting stacks using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
  • Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets - and care about the distinction.
  • Participate in incident response, run blameless post-mortems, and turn outages into better runbooks.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement secrets management, network segmentation, vulnerability scanning, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with InfoSec to meet CSSF, PCI DSS, and data protection requirements.
  • Treat compliance as a design constraint, not overhead.

Reliability & Performance

  • Manage database operations, backup strategies, and disaster recovery.
  • Optimize resource utilization and cloud spend.
  • Run capacity planning and load testing ahead of growth, not after.

Documentation

  • Maintain clear, current runbooks and infrastructure documentation. If it isn't written down, it doesn't exist.
  • Share knowledge through code reviews, pair programming, and the occasional internal tech talk.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Proven experience running production infrastructure on AWS.
  • Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools - Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, or equivalent.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong scripting skills in at least two of: Bash, Python, PowerShell.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and observability tools.
  • Sound understanding of networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs.
  • Experience with Git and trunk-based or gitflow development workflows.
  • Fluent spoken and written English

Nice to Have

  • Service mesh experience (Istio, Linkerd, or similar).
  • Familiarity with policy-as-code frameworks (OPA, Kyverno, or equivalent).
  • Database operations experience - PostgreSQL, Redis, or managed cloud databases.
  • Background in a regulated industry where reliability has real consequences.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, CKA, or equivalent).
  • Comfort using AI-assisted tools - GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatOps bots - as part of a daily engineering workflow.

How We Work

The bar here is high - for reliability, security, and auditability - because it has to be. We invest in modern tooling and good practices: infrastructure-as-code, blameless post-mortems, and documentation written before memory fades. We move with purpose, not panic.

You'll receive direction from senior engineers and the CTO, but you'll own your systems. We value initiative, and we welcome a well-reasoned "there's a better way to do this."
