About the team: The AI Studio team is part of the AI Platform track, where together we aim to make it easy for everyone at Booking.com to build, evaluate and use high quality AI applications. Specifically within the AI Studio team we play an essential part in delivering the capabilities for everyone at Booking to work with GenAI and we are focusing on:

  • Lowering the entry barrier into GenAI by providing a playground to experiment with different models and prompts.
  • Building UI-based tools to help with GenAI and agentic application prototyping and evaluation.
  • Helping colleagues optimize (agentic) AI systems.


Given the rapidly developing field of GenAI we work in small cycles, delivering work iteratively and collecting feedback early, constantly improving and optimizing our current solutions.

Role Description: As a Frontend Engineer you will work closely with other backend- and frontend engineers, ML engineers, product managers and designers to come up with user-friendly and technically solid solutions that power AI Studio. You will be responsible for developing new and iterating on existing services powering the product. You are aware of developments in the GenAI field both in- and outside of the company and can spot opportunities and take initiative to develop the studio further.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design and implement end-to-end product features in collaboration with UX Designers and Backend/ML Engineers
  • Evaluating customer needs and coming up with ideal solutions for it, assessing different languages (Javascript, Typescript, etc), architecture and risks
  • Rapidly developing next-generation scalable, flexible, and high-performance systems, with end-to-end ownership by monitoring and adjusting SLIs and SLOs
  • Continuously learn and apply modern development methodologies and tools
  • Deploy and maintain software in production
  • Proactively propose improvement ideas to reduce technical debt and increase business impact of your team


Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience in a relevant role, preferably in a commercial environment
  • Software development experience working with Javascript/Typescript and React framework using modern tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Understanding of modern front end architecture principles and design practices: micro frontend architecture, SSR, SPA, responsive design, progressive enhancement, graceful degradation
  • Knowledge of GraphQL is a plusAbility to write high-performance, reusable code
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with agentic coding
