Full-timeRemote FriendlyProduct Management

At Algrano, we’re building the platform where independent coffee producers and roasters trade green coffee more transparently and efficiently. We help roasters discover and buy great coffee, and we help producers reach new customers and grow stronger, longer-term relationships.

As a Technical Product Manager - Operations, you’ll own a critical strategic initiative: building scalable operations. Your core mission is simple but highly challenging: decouple the growth of our order volume from the growth of our headcount. You will work closely with our Logistics, Sourcing, and Finance teams to map complex physical logistics processes and translate them into highly efficient, automated technical workflows.

We use the Shape Up methodology to focus on impactful work and deliver high quality. You won’t just be a feature factory PM; you will have dedicated engineering resources and actively evaluate "buy vs. build" decisions. From reading API docs of freight forwarders to identifying off-the-shelf AI tools for invoice processing, you will lead the charge in making Algrano's operational engine run flawlessly.

Tasks

  • Operational Discovery: Dive deep into the physical world of coffee logistics. Map out complex workflows alongside the Ops team, from manual warehouse releases to high-volume invoice processing.

  • Technical Shaping & Vendor Evaluation: Lead "buy vs. build" decisions. Read vendor API docs (e.g., logistics partners, warehouse systems), test endpoints, and evaluate third-party software before any engineering work begins.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the strategic diplomat connecting Logistics, Sourcing, Marketplace, and Engineering to ensure alignment on efficiency KPIs.

  • Execution with Engineering: Work closely with engineers to turn ambiguous operational bottlenecks into clearly shaped technical solutions, ensuring successful implementation within our Ruby on Rails architecture.

Requirements

  • You are a hungry, mid-level professional (roughly 3-5 years of experience) who is deeply passionate about understanding complex problems over simply managing tickets.

  • You have a strong technical foundation. You don’t need to write production code, but you must be entirely comfortable reading API documentation and understanding system architecture.

  • You excel at taking chaotic, real-world operational challenges and translating them into structured, scalable software solutions.

  • You are highly analytical, with an eye for spotting inefficiencies and a drive to leverage modern technology to solve them.

  • You communicate clearly in written and spoken English.

  • You are based in or around Zurich, Switzerland, and are excited to work closely with the business teams in a hybrid setup, coming to the office on average 2x per week.

  • Previous experience as a software engineer or in technical systems integration.
