Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of technical survey knowledge and expertise across all aspects of the Survey Department and projects.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the project survey team on-site.
- Manage the project survey team, including mobilization, execution, deliverables, and project closeout.
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance of survey data, including field checks, calibrations, and survey results.
- Oversee project survey staffing and advise the Area Survey Manager and Project Manager regarding personnel requirements or improvements.
- Support, advise, and facilitate the Site Project Team on survey and operational matters.
- Report all survey activities via the Weekly Survey Report to the Project Manager and Survey Department, including personnel, equipment, activities, and planning.
- Provide the Site Team with required project progress information on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, presented in volume sheets, drawings, and/or cross-sections.
- Proactively assist in gathering data for the knowledge database (lessons learned, installation procedures) to support and improve survey operations.
- Take active steps in the preparation, standardization, and maintenance of Survey Guidelines and Procedures.
- Actively participate in the safety program; safety is a shared responsibility and a condition of employment to ensure a safer working environment.
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of survey equipment, hardware, and software.
- Ensure that HSE requirements are observed in all survey activities and provide guidance to surveyors on QA/QC and HSE reports and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrography, Marine or Land Survey, Geodetic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marine or infrastructure works within related industries.
- Experience in dredging and reclamation projects is highly preferred.
