The IT Scrum Master is responsible for championing Agile methodologies and fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and efficient project delivery. This role serves as a facilitator, coach, and leader for Agile teams, ensuring they adhere to Agile principles and practices. The IT Scrum Master is dedicated to removing impediments, enhancing team productivity, and enabling teams to achieve their goals in an Agile environment.
The IT Scrum Master is crucial in guiding Agile teams through the software development lifecycle, from project initiation to product delivery. They facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to promote transparency, inspection, and adaptation. Their ability to identify and mitigate risks, foster effective communication, and coach teams in Agile best practices are instrumental in achieving project success.
Specific Job Duties
- Act as a Scrum Master for Agile teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Remove impediments and ensure the team remains focused on delivering sprint goals.
- Promote Agile principles and best practices within the organization.
- Coach teams in Agile methodologies and ensure adherence to Agile processes.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint planning, and tracking of user stories and tasks.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure the effective use of Azure DevOps for project management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain compliant processes and practices (e.g., FDA/CFR, GxP, EMA, MHRA, EU GVP, HIPAA, GDPR) as applicable for the business.
- Capable of earning trust and influencing stakeholders without formal authority to required results.
- Flexible, collaborative, and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously to maintain teamwork and optimal project flow.
- Foster a culture of collaboration among cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and transparency.
- Facilitate discussions and decision-making within the team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and guide teams in implementing changes.
- Monitor and report on Agile metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify and mitigate risks that may impact project delivery.
- Responsible for delivery and success of assigned projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or commensurate experience.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certifications.
- 5 - 8 years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile software development environment.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps for backlog management and project tracking.
- Knowledge of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR, and GAMP 5 and experience in applying compliance principles is a plus.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
