Well, what about the team?
You will be working with a cross-functional team. You will be responsible for the full software development life cycle, from design to delivery using the latest tools and technologies. You will work alongside other developers to design elegant solutions and troubleshoot difficult problems. Actively contributing in services related to identity verification, responsible gaming, regulatory driven products for UK and Spain.
You will be expected to work alongside AI-powered development tools as part of your daily workflow. This means not just writing code, but learning to effectively prompt, direct, and verify code generated by AI agents. Over the next 12 months, the balance of this role will shift — spending less time typing code line by line and more time describing problems clearly, reviewing AI-generated output for quality and correctness, and understanding the architectural reasoning behind implementation decisions.
This role will be based in Estonia (3 days a week in office)
So, what will you be doing?
- To design and develop high-volume, high-performance, high-availability Java applications using proven Java frameworks and technologies
- Maintaining and upgrading existing software.
- Investigating software-related complaints and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal software performance.
- Regularly attending team meetings to discuss projects, brainstorm ideas, and put forward solutions to any issues.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) to accelerate coding, debugging, and testing workflows
- Review and validate AI-generated code against team standards for readability, maintainability, test coverage, and security
- Expertise back-end development with Java.
- Experience in front-end development with React, Javascript
- Software engineering concepts, best practices, and knowledge of design patterns.
- Can deliver results within set deadlines.
- Understanding DevOps (scripting, deploying, CI/CD).
- Understands and actively embraces AI-assisted software development as the primary way of working
- Able to critically evaluate AI-generated code
- Understanding and some experience of Databases
- Understanding of Spring framework and microservices architecture
- Server-side core Java development.
- Testing good practices: both unit and integration testing.
