We are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer to strengthen our hydropower team. In this role, you will ensure that technical solutions meet the high requirements and standards of international projects. About The Role
As a Senior System Engineer, you will ensure that the technical solutions for hydropower projects meet contract requirements and design standards. You will work closely with the Lead Engineer to understand customer needs and design cost-effective, high-quality solutions. You will be responsible for documentation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring that all deadlines are met. In addition to technical tasks, you will play a key role in project coordination, monitoring design progress, and resolving challenges together with the Project Manager. The role requires occasional travel, mainly in Sweden and Norway.

- Handling turbine and generator control and protection
- Managing pre-design, system design, detail design, and documentation
- Creating project engineering and design plans together with the Lead Engineer/Project Manager
- Reporting engineering work progress and ensuring adherence to schedules and freezing points
- Participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- A strong technical background, preferably a B.Sc. or M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering
- Several years of experience in electrical design and practical design tasks
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD, Febdok)
- Knowledge of relevant laws and standards (e.g., IEC, DOK80)
- Fluency in Finnish and English; Swedish is considered as an advantage
- Willingness to travel
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take independent responsibility for your tasks
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Previous experience specifically from hydropower or other power plant environments
