Qantas is establishing a new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide a hub that will transform how we design, build and deliver digital experiences for millions of customers. At its core is a shift to a product-led operating model: moving away from traditional project-based IT delivery toward empowered, cross-functional product teams that own outcomes end-to-end.
As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for designing, developing and executing the product strategy and roadmap for a specified portfolio. You’ll balance customer needs, commercial priorities and operational considerations to deliver products that enhance customer experience, support revenue growth and strengthen the Qantas brand.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional partners to identify opportunities, prioritise initiatives, manage investment decisions and ensure products are delivered effectively across their lifecycle. This role plays a key part in embedding modern product management practices, agile ways of working and human‑centred design across the organisation.
You’ll have
- 5–10 years’ relevant experience in product management or closely related roles, ideally within complex, customer‑centric or operational environments
- Proven experience defining product vision, strategy and roadmaps, and owning delivery outcomes across the full product lifecycle
- A strong customer‑centric mindset, underpinned by research, insights and data‑driven decision making
- Demonstrated ability to translate business and customer needs into clear product requirements, manage feature backlogs and prioritise initiatives effectively
- Experience working in agile, product‑led environments, applying modern product management practices and human‑centred design principles
- Well‑developed commercial acumen, including budget management, financial forecasting, business case development and P&L awareness
- Experience managing and influencing suppliers and strategic partners, including contract negotiation and ongoing performance management
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate across matrixed teams
- Highly developed analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline
- Experience within the airline industry or a highly regulated, operational environment will be highly regarded
