TL;DR
You'll build and ship features used by 850,000+ users on Finary's mobile apps (iOS & Android), working with React Native and Expo in a modern, AI-native engineering environment. This is a high-autonomy role where you'll shape mobile architecture and ship at high velocity alongside a small, senior team.

You'll join an engineering team of ~30, organized in four full-stack squads (Track, Investment, Crypto, Finary One) plus a platform team (SRE, security, data). Your manager will be an Engineering Manager. You'll work daily with backend engineers, web engineers, product managers, and designers.
Squads are fluid: they exist to solve specific problems and evolve as priorities shift. You'll have stability within a squad but move across them as needed. At our current size (3 mobile engineers), there's high flexibility without over-specialization.

What You'll Do
- Build and ship delightful features end-to-end on Finary's mobile apps
- Contribute to mobile architecture decisions: this isn't just feature work, you'll define how the mobile platform evolves
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers to define API contracts and optimize mobile-specific data flows
- Partner with product managers and designers to deliver polished, performant mobile experiences
- Leverage AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) to multiply your output: we believe writing code manually is no longer where your value lies
- Raise the bar on mobile performance, reliability, and developer experience
- Strong expertise in React Native with Expo (mandatory). Native iOS/Android development experience is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of backend systems and computer science fundamentals: you can work with backend engineers to define contracts and reason about system design
- Deep understanding of mobile-specific challenges: performance, offline handling, navigation patterns, platform differences, app store processes
- AI pioneer: you've understood that manual code-writing is mostly solved and actively use AI tools to multiply your productivity. If your current company restricts AI usage, you have personal projects that demonstrate your expertise
- Staff level preferred: you don't just ship features, you shape the mobile platform's architecture, mentor peers, and drive technical direction
- Radical ownership: you own outcomes, move fast, and don't wait for permission
- Fluent in English: written and spoken. Our engineering team works in English
- Experience with native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) development
- Fintech or personal finance mobile experience
- Mobile: React Native, Expo, TypeScript
- Backend (for context): Rust, Ruby, Python
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure: GCP, Terraform
- Ops: GitHub, Datadog, Sentry
- AI tooling: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex
What we offer
- Level 1 (learning the craft): €30-60K
- Level 2 (level 1 + autonomy): €60-80K
- Level 3 (level 2 + ownership): €70-90K
- Level 4 (level 3 + technical leadership): €80-110K
- Level 5 (level 4 + shapes company direction): €100-130K
- We can go higher for outstanding profiles. This role is open from Level 4 to Level 5 depending on experience.
