In this role, you will participate in the development, consulting, and support of IT systems for Frontex. The European Border and Coast Guard Agency supports EU Member States and Schengen-associated countries in managing the EU's external borders and fighting cross-border crime.
Our expectations:
- Minimum 10 years of experience relevant to the job
- Sound knowledge of EU Regulatory acts and the EU cybersecurity framework
- Understanding of Frontex's mission, tasks, and legal basis
- Knowledge of EU security and border management initiatives (e.g., Copernicus, Galileo)
- English level: B2 confirmed by a certificate or be willing to take the exam
- Excellent knowledge of the subject at the design, architecture and implementation levels
- Deep understanding of complex information systems and their interoperability
- Solid knowledge of IT security standards
- Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle and software development lifecycle
- Strong sense of responsibility, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
Nice to have:
- EU SECRET security clearance or documented evidence that the application process is already underway
Main responsibilities:
- Gathering, analysing and assessing business needs related to the subject
- Translating business requirements and needs into optimal technical designs and solutions
- Implementing technical solutions in the area of expertise
- Proposing and implementing improvements related with the subject
- Maintaining up to date solution documentation including technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user manuals, knowledge base articles etc.
- If applicable, managing solution through the complete service/software development lifecycle
- Other specific duties as assigned by the team leader
