As a Backend Engineer in the Recommendation Team, you will:

Job Description
As a Backend Engineer in the Recommendation Team, you will:
- Participate in the design and development of Shopee’s core backend recommendation systems, enabling fast iteration for product and business needs.
- Optimize performance of online serving engines, recall/ranking modules, and offline data pipelines.
- Contribute to building reusable system components and services, supporting Shopee’s centralized recommendation platform.
- Learn and research industry trends in recommendation and backend technologies, applying innovative ideas to real-world business challenges.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and computer systems.
- Solid coding ability, with proficiency in C++/Golang/Python, and familiarity with Linux environments.
- Interest in distributed systems, high-concurrency architectures, and scalable backend design.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Self-driven, eager to learn, and motivated to work on challenging technical problems.
- (Preferred) Familiarity with backend frameworks, recommendation/search/ads systems, or large-scale data processing.
