Systems Engineer — Cloud DevOps
Industry: Enterprise AI / B2B SaaS — Workforce Enablement & Conversational AI
Location: Remote / Hybrid (APAC / EMEA coverage)
Type: Full-Time
Role Summary
We are hiring a Systems Engineer with deep Cloud DevOps expertise to architect, build, and own our cloud infrastructure from the ground up. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role — you will be the first engineer setting the standards for how our platform scales, stays secure, and remains resilient across enterprise environments.
You will work closely with product and engineering teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS (primary), with exposure to GCP and Azure. In the early stage of this role, you will be highly execution-focused — rolling up your sleeves to build and configure infrastructure directly, before transitioning into a more architectural capacity as the team scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement end-to-end AWS environments — from VPCs, IAM, and networking through to compute, storage, and managed services.
- Design and own CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (EKS/ECS), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Build and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure for enterprise SaaS deployments.
- Establish DevSecOps practices — embedding security controls, compliance standards, and audit readiness into the infrastructure layer.
- Define and enforce cloud architecture standards, tagging policies, cost optimisation frameworks, and incident response runbooks.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to support platform integrations, API connectivity, and customer-specific deployment requirements.
- Monitor system health, performance, and reliability; lead root cause analysis and resolution for infrastructure incidents.
- Evaluate and integrate tooling across observability, secrets management, and cloud cost management.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps roles.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS — including compute (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda), networking (VPC, Route 53, ALB/NLB), storage (S3, RDS, DynamoDB), and IAM.
- Proven track record architecting and delivering end-to-end AWS environments for enterprise-grade, production workloads.
- Strong IaC proficiency — Terraform preferred; CloudFormation or AWS CDK also considered.
- Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles — network segmentation, encryption at rest and in transit, secrets management, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001 familiarity advantageous).
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS or ECS).
- Comfortable working in fast-moving environments where you are both architect and hands-on builder.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-cloud environments (GCP and/or Azure) in addition to AWS.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure requirements — GPU workloads, model serving, and LLM deployment pipelines.
- Background in or exposure to the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) sector — understanding of regulated cloud deployment requirements.
- Experience in a high-growth SaaS or enterprise software environment.
- Exposure to platform engineering practices — internal developer platforms, golden paths, and self-service infrastructure.
Certifications & Licenses
AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate) is strongly preferred. Additional certifications in AWS Security, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent GCP/Azure credentials are advantageous. Certifications are not mandatory for candidates with demonstrable hands-on architectural experience.
Work Location
- This is a remote/hybrid position. Hybrid, if you are based in Singapore and remote if you are outside of Singapore.
