Job Title: Project Manager (Unit Pricing & Investment Operations Change)

Rate: £682.50 per day

Location: York (Hybrid)

Role Overview

The team is undergoing significant change across its investment and unit pricing operating model. We require an experienced Project Manager to coordinate, structure and drive delivery across several high impact initiatives.

The role sits within the Aviva Change Framework and will work closely with SMEs, operational leads, third party providers, and internal change/governance teams.


Key Projects


1. Operating Model Review – Unit Pricing & Investment

  • Review and define the next phase of the investment and unit pricing operating model.
  • BlackRock had previously been engaged to build an investment model but are no longer involved.
  • The business is now driving the redesign internally and needs a PM to coordinate activities, documentation, and stakeholder alignment.

2. BG Optimisation & Operating Model Transformation

  • Review of the end-to-end operating model covering the last 10 years.
  • Integration of internal and external providers including HSBC, State Street, and BNY Mellon.
  • Current gap: a major strategic change is required to align the operating model with future state needs.
  • SMEs are already engaged, but a PM is required to manage delivery, governance, and timelines.
  • Data is being received from BNY with new ways of working under development; a delivery date is forming but requires strong PM ownership.


Responsibilities

  • End to end project management under the Aviva Change Framework.
  • Produce and maintain all standard change documentation, including:
  • Storyboards
  • Stakeholder maps
  • Traceability matrices
  • Manage RAID, plans, governance packs, change controls.
  • Facilitate requirement gathering workshops and ensure clear documentation.
  • Support budgeting, reporting, and general PMO oversight.
  • Coordinate SMEs, technical analysts, and operational stakeholders.
  • Use Jira for tracking, workflow management, and story progression.
  • Ensure clarity and structure across multiple complex workstreams.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong project management background, ideally within financial services or investment operations.
  • Experience delivering change across investment operations, unit pricing, or fund-related processes.
  • Ability to work in a highly complex, multiprovider environment (BNY Mellon, State Street, HSBC, etc.).
  • Excellent stakeholder management across business, technology, and external partners.
  • Skilled in structured change frameworks, documentation, and delivery governance.
  • Jira experience is preferred.
