Job Details

Software Engineers also known as Development Experts have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.

The Senior Android Development expert will work in a Multi-Disciplinary Team to deliver Centrelink Express Plus android app in an exciting, fast paced and dynamic environment using some of the latest technologies.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Experience developing Native Android applications in Java or Kotlin with high quality engineering and user experience
  • Strong experience in software development and related SDK tools
  • Experience driving design of and integration with backend services including API and web services
  • Experience in version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to develop and run automation test scripts in Python, JavaScript, Cucumber, Mockito, Selenium
  • Desirable experience developing with wearable technology
  • Strong sense of software craftsmanship, writing clean, testable and effective code while driving engineering principles
  • Experience using agile development methodologies including CI/CD, TDD, BDD, Scrum, Kanban and Lean
  • Lead or contribute to project strategy, iterations and delivery direction
  • Facilitate workshops and design discussions with stakeholders including Customer Experience teams
  • Contribute to design patterns, frameworks and governance
  • Lead iterative prototyping, development cycles and code reviews
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including executives, managers and SMEs

Leads the development of organisational systems integration and build capabilities including automation and continuous integration. Develops organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for systems integration and build. Provides resources to ensure systems integration and build can operate effectively and ensures adoption and adherence to policies and standards.

Manages the execution of business process improvements. Analyses and designs business processes to identify alternative solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and exploit new technologies and automation. Selects, tailors and implements methods and tools for improving business processes at programme, project or team level.
