The department is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager / Scrum Master (FinOps experience is highly desirable) to support their ICT Transition Program on a 12-month contract, with 2X12 months extensions option. The role is based in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) with hybrid working arrangements - requiring attendance at the Canberra office at least three days a week or as negotiated. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating cross-functional teams, facilitating agile delivery, and ensuring governance compliance across a range of Microsoft 365 and related workplace platform streams.

As The Selected Candidate, You Will

  • Lead and facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that actions are completed and team collaboration is maintained.
  • Establish delivery cadence, working agreements, Definition of Ready/Done, and lightweight governance suitable for a regulated government environment.
  • Partner with Product Owners, technical leads, and architects to maintain and shape prioritised backlogs for Microsoft 365 tools including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Endpoint Manager, Purview, Security Centre, and licensing.
  • Develop, plan, and track delivery across sprints and releases, managing milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and impediments proactively while removing blockers.
  • Coordinate delivery efforts across internal teams and external suppliers, clearly defining responsibilities and ensuring seamless integration.
  • Drive transparent delivery reporting through metrics such as burn-up/burn-down charts, throughput, forecasts, RAID logs, and status reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support transition activities including service readiness, operational handover, documentation, and change or release planning to ensure smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.
  • Ensure all delivery activities comply with Australian Government cyber security, governance, and assurance requirements, escalating risks where necessary.
  • Coach team members and stakeholders on agile delivery practices, promoting continuous improvement in a hybrid environment.

To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have

  • Proven experience in coordinating and integrating cross-functional technical teams and external suppliers, with a strong ability to deliver clear outcomes and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading and facilitating all core agile ceremonies, fostering team collaboration, embedding delivery cadences, and coaching on agile best practices.
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and delivery reporting, including implementing frameworks suitable for a regulated government setting.
  • Experience supporting service readiness and operational handover activities, including planning, documentation, and managing change/release processes.
  • Ability to proactively identify and escalate risks impacting security and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

It Is Desirable If You Have

  • Prior experience working within Australian government ICT projects or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, cybersecurity standards, and related platforms.
  • Certification in Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe) or project management.
  • FinOps experience is highly desirable.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian who have the ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance.
