About the Role: Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer. This is a long-term contract role 12 months initial contract with 2 x 12-month extension options, located at our client’s ACT office with hybrid working arrangements.
As The Selected Candidate, You Will
- Take ownership of enterprise network infrastructure, including standards, policies, procedures, and documentation
- Manage updates, improvements, and lifecycle of network environments across LAN, WLAN, WAN, firewalls, and cloud platforms
- Provide Level 3 support including advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimisation
- Lead and contribute to major incident response, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder communication
- Ensure compliance with security policies, governance frameworks, and operational standards
- Manage ITSM queues and oversee ticket resolution through to closure
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to uplift network capability, resilience, and maturity
- Demonstrated experience in network ownership, governance, and continuous improvement within enterprise environments
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and operating complex enterprise networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, data centre, SDN)
- Strong expertise in firewall technologies, traffic management, and network security practices
- Proven ability in advanced fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and incident resolution
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking in AWS and Azure within hybrid architectures
- Strong understanding of secure network design, scalability, and resilience principles
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience leading or contributing to major incident management processes
- Experience with secure access solutions such as Zscaler
- Exposure to Federal Government environments and compliance frameworks
- Experience mentoring team members and contributing to capability uplift
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management frameworks
